2009 Fishing Forecast

Fishing 2009 on Oregon's north Coast

Well in a few words it is going to be the best in ten years! now fishing is still fishing but no question the salmon runs for the Columbia are up for Spring and Fall Chinooks and the Coho Numbers are some of the best this decade.

Ocean salmon fishing will be good based upon ocean conditions and coho numbers with some access to Chinooks later in the summer. Fall Tillamook and Nehalem Bay news is better then last year again with average Chinook Numbers and very Good Coho Numbers.

Sturgeon Season begins May 9th and continues until June 28th or until the qouta is reached. Catch & Release sturgeon fishing which is the best in North America in July and August.

Columbia Seasons not to miss.

Springers. three days a week until April 18th

Sturgeon seven days a week May 9th - June 28th
Catch & Release July-August

Buoy 10 August-September

Ocean Salmon season not yet set but plan on July-August five days a week

Nehalem & Tillamook Bays Late September/October
